Austrailian DJ, Pogo puts a lovely “spin” on some of our favorite dialogue and scenes from Disney-Pixar‘s Up. Pogo cuts together the dialogue and footage, and lays it over some sweeeet beats. Also of interest, Pogo’s Alice Remix.

Much like Alice, we also ventured into a new world during the course of this film; albeit ours featured fewer mystical characters and more stereoscopic 3D equipment: This project marked our first stereoscopic 3D trailer.

Creating graphics to be viewed in this format meant there were many more elements to consider, but also allowed us to step outside the usual realm and witness our cards in 3D. To match the style of Tim Burton’s trippy take on this classic, we integrated an in-house font with backplates featuring iconic elements from the story, resulting in a unique, kaleidoscopic look.

Shot by Jeff Altman’s grandfather on his Bell & Howell Filmo using 16mm Kodachrome film stock. This footage was taken a year after the California theme park opened. Transferred to HD (1080PsF 23.98) off a Spirit and Color Corrected using a da Vinci 2k Plus. Slowed to 18fps to match the original film speed. Very cool throwback look at what DIsneyland looked like when it was brand new.
