The subversive yet playful nature of this movie allowed us to be a bit tongue-in-cheek with the graphics for the Smokin’ Aces TV spots. Drawing upon actual film reviews, we went old-school Batman and wrote out the “Blam”s. We also kept it G-rated, but wanted to address the action and rebelliousness of Smokin’ Aces by throwing a few “Expletive”s in the mix.
For the title, we knew we wanted to go with an edgy yet stylized look, so playing cards and weapons were meshed together in an explosion behind the gritty, variant-sized font of the title.
